The first prototype

Hey everyone!
This week we put our minds into creating the first prototype (made of paper) that will be used tomorrow in order to get some feedback from the users. Things are working according to plan, which is great :^)

Low-fi Prototype

This week the team was focused on drawing and sketching ideas for our levels and puzzle designs while keeping the low-fi prototype necessity in mind. Alex already posted and uploaded the sketches photos so I won't be doing that. The prototype will now be used to get user feedback, by testing it with members from our focus group. We also met in person with our Design Artist for the first time to make sure everyone is on the right track and know what is going on. Until next week!

Prototypes

The low-fi prototypes are finalized, today we tested them with our own game designer Mariana in order to get some feedback before presenting them(the prototypes) to our focus group. Tomorrow we will start the real testing with players from our focus group and hopefully get even more feedback that can help us improve the project. The tech prototype is almost finished as well it just needs some final tweaks hopefully by Sunday everything is complete and functional. Drawing, drawing, drawing...

Hi guys!
So, by the title you should know what we are doing this week (yeah, it's drawing). And that is all we did this week. This weekend the prototype will be tested by our focus group and we'll collect more data to analyse.

FDC (part two)

Hello everyone! Finished our first conceptual document, the game theory is taking shape and we managed to get enough replies to our survey in order to get a solid focus group. Time to start coding now and implement the basic game mechanics. What are the game mechanics you ask? I won't say, stay tuned and find out next week :D
Our conceptual document is now finished and delivered. From the survey we created next week we selected 7 people to accomodate our focus group. The selected people were chosen taking into account different types of players and free time, because it will be needed for our game testing. For the rest of this week our team will focus on building low-fi prototypes, generate more ideas and contact our focus group in order to get proper feedback. Until next week!

Hey guys so our first conceptual documents are finished, we now have a better idea of what we are up against, we also selected our focus group with different types of players so we can test and get feedback from different perspectives. This week i'm gonna start working on the low fidelity prototypes to hopefully test it with the focus group as soon as possible.

First Development Cycle (part two)

Hi guys! So this week we finished our conceptual document. We got over 20 people responding to our survey and with that solid data. Our focus group is decided and is composed of 7 people. In the next weeks we'll get in touch with them to test our (not yet done) prototype. Now I need to focus on two other projects and a test. See you all next week and thanks for following our blog!

First Development Cycle

We are making progress! I was assigned the role of lead programmer for this project and have been working on the android development setup. As of yesterday, all libraries have been installed and we can now export and debug the "game" on an android device!

We started to really get into the Conceptual document (more than half is already done), we did a form to get data and create a focus group and we talked with our designer from Faculdade Belas Artes. We are also perfecting our ideas for the game to make it better. See you next week!

First Dev Cycle

The team has been working on the conceptual documents this week. We built a survey to gather info and a focus group, reviewed some of the competition that is currently in the industry, analysed the domain and started creating scenarios and personas. Our ideas are getting more solid by the day and we are looking forward to what comes next. Cya next week!

First Development Cycle

Hey guys, just a quick update we started working on the First Development Cycle we already have some of the work done, currently waiting on feedback from potential focus group players. We also divided goals and responsibilities I'm in charge of level design and I'm also the one responsible for the team. Currently working on some basic levels while also working on creating "Player personas" so let's just hope my imagination doesn't betray me, wish me luck : ) See you next week.
